The Phoenix Collective — 2026 Public Event Series

Real talk. Practical tools. Honest community. These eight live sessions are built for people who are tired of “powering through” and ready to build stability that holds on hard days.

Note: Dr. John A. King & Melissa King also host ongoing Thursday Group Trauma Coaching inside PHX Collective. These eight dates are special public nights—perfect if you’re new and want to experience the work.

What These Nights Are (and Aren’t)

Think: less performance, more progress. Less “fix me,” more “show me the next right step.” You’ll leave with tools you can actually use—at work, at home, and in the middle of a trigger.

What to Expect

  • Simple frameworks that help you spot patterns early (before they blow up).
  • Real-life language for boundaries, repair, and recovery—without turning it into a speech.
  • Nervous-system friendly tools you can run in minutes, even when you’re running hot.
  • Community perspective that helps you feel less alone and more capable.
If you need an analogy: this is “duct tape for the soul” — practical, direct, and meant for real life.

Who It’s For

  • People who look “fine” but feel maxed out.
  • Leaders / parents / partners who keep absorbing pressure… then leaking it later.
  • Anyone tired of apology loops, shutdown loops, or 2 a.m. alarm nights.
  • You don’t need to share your story. You can just show up and learn.

5 PM PST / 7 PM CST / 8 PM EST

Redefining Normal: Stop Chasing “I’m Fine” and Build a New Baseline

If you’re tired of performing “fine,” this is where you stop pretending and start rebuilding. We’ll help you define a baseline you can keep on hard days—not just perfect ones. You’ll map what’s driving your current “normal” (sleep, stress, triggers, bandwidth) and walk out with a repeatable plan that doesn’t collapse the moment life gets loud.

Trigger-Proof Your Day event thumbnail
March 26, 2026 • Thursday
5 PM PST / 7 PM CST / 8 PM EST

Trigger-Proof Your Day: How to Stop the Blowups Before They Start

Most blowups don’t start in your mouth—they start in your body, hours earlier. You’ll learn how to spot your early warning signs and interrupt the sequence before it runs you. We’ll build a practical pause-point for real-time moments, plus a simple after-action method that turns a rough day into usable data instead of shame.

Sleep Without the 2 a.m. Alarm event thumbnail
April 23, 2026 • Thursday
5 PM PST / 7 PM CST / 8 PM EST

Sleep Without the 2 a.m. Alarm: Nightmares, Wakeups, and Getting Your Edge Back

If nights feel like a second shift, you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. We’ll break down why your brain stays on alert after the day is over, and what to do about it without turning bedtime into a fight. You’ll leave with a simple night reset protocol and a plan for the “wired but exhausted” cycle (including what to do when nightmares show up).

Pressure Without Collateral Damage event thumbnail
May 28, 2026 • Thursday
5 PM PST / 7 PM CST / 8 PM EST

Pressure Without Collateral Damage: Leading Your Home When You’re Running Hot

Holding it together all day and then leaking it at home is common—and expensive. In this session, we’ll show you how to offload pressure before it detonates, and how to repair fast when things go sideways. You’ll learn a short decompression routine (minutes, not hours) plus boundary language that doesn’t start a fight.

Back in Rhythm event thumbnail
August 27, 2026 • Thursday
5 PM PST / 7 PM CST / 8 PM EST

Back in Rhythm: Discipline, Routine, and Identity After a Rough Season

This is the reset that doesn’t require perfect conditions. We’ll help you rebuild momentum with a structure you can keep even when life is busy and motivation is low. You’ll define your minimum standard, your daily reset, and your “next right step” plan for the next 30 days—without the all-or-nothing crash.

Motivation vs Discipline event thumbnail
September 24, 2026 • Thursday
5 PM PST / 7 PM CST / 8 PM EST

Motivation vs. Discipline: How to Win on Boring Days

Motivation is unreliable—systems win. You’ll learn how to build a minimum standard that keeps you moving when you don’t feel like it, and how to recover fast when you slip. We’ll show you how to remove friction, reduce decision fatigue, and build consistency without hype—especially when you’re tired, triggered, or flat.

The Quiet War event thumbnail
October 22, 2026 • Thursday
5 PM PST / 7 PM CST / 8 PM EST

The Quiet War: Rumination, Negative Thinking, and Getting Your Mind Back

If your mind turns loud at the worst times—driving, late night, early morning—this is for you. We’ll break down why rumination feels productive, how it hijacks your focus, and how to shut down the loop without denial or avoidance. Leave with a simple method to interrupt spirals, regain clarity, and make decisions without mental chaos.

Holiday Armor event thumbnail
November 19, 2026 • Thursday
5 PM PST / 7 PM CST / 8 PM EST

Holiday Armor: Boundaries, Family Triggers, and Walking Out With Your Peace Intact

The holidays don’t just bring schedules—they bring old roles, old patterns, and the same pressure points. You’ll learn boundaries that don’t require a speech, plus quick tools for baiting, passive aggression, and emotional landmines. We’ll build a pre-game and post-game routine so you don’t pay for one gathering with three days of fallout.

FAQ

Do I need to be a PHX Collective member to attend?

No. These eight events are free and open to the public. If you want ongoing Thursday Group Trauma Coaching, that’s inside PHX Collective.

Do I have to share my story or speak on camera?

No. You can attend quietly, take notes, and apply what fits. Sharing is optional.

Is this therapy or medical care?

No. This is education and coaching support. We don’t diagnose or treat. If you’re under medical or psychiatric care, keep working with your licensed providers.

What if the topic doesn’t match what I’m dealing with?

Each night is designed to be practical, even if the theme isn’t your “main” issue. The tools cross over—sleep affects triggers; triggers affect relationships; rumination affects discipline, etc.

Pick One Night… or Build the Whole Year

Either way, the goal is the same: less chaos, more control—without pretending your past didn’t happen.
