Mentoringwith Dr. John A. King
If you've read my books or heard me speak and thought, “I'd like to sit down with him and talk about what's going on in my life,” this is an invitation to do that.

I'm an Indigenous Australian, and my work has taken me into businesses and communities in different parts of the world. I've worked with people at the beginning of something, when it's still an idea, and with people facing difficult decisions about something they've spent years building. At 63, I bring a great deal of experience to those conversations, including what it's taken to find my way through things in my own life.
Private mentoring gives us the chance to get to know each other. As I understand more about what matters to you, I can draw on my experience in ways that are useful to you. The conversation develops as we go.
Working together
For me, this begins with sharing what life has taught us. We draw on the wisdom of experiences we have in common, as well as things we've each lived through separately. And we draw on what we've learned from those who have gone before us.
You might come wanting to talk about work, then find that what's bothering you is how little time you have for anything else. We can talk about what you'd actually like to change. Tell me what's going on in your own words, even if you haven't quite worked it out yet.
I'll ask questions as we go. Sometimes I'll see things differently from you, and we need to be able to talk about that. You should be able to disagree with me.
If you decide to make a change, we can work out how you're going to go about it. When we speak again, we'll talk about what happened and what we've learned from it.
If you'd like to
work with me
Send me a note. Tell me a little about what's happening and why you'd like my help. A few sentences will do.
We can talk about whether I'm the right person to help you. I'll explain what working together would involve and what it would cost before you decide.
